Are Rosenshine’s Principles anything new? Or just common sense?
In the UK, Rosenshine’s Principles of Instruction, popularised via a 2012 edition of American Educator magazine, have had significant reach into schools, forming the basis of a lot of training events. This session will explore what the principles are, why they’re popular and tackle the notion that they are ‘just common sense’.
Tom was a physics and maths teacher and school leader for 30 years, including 11 as a Headteacher. He is now a consultant supporting schools with professional development programmes and curriculum design and is regular speaker at conferences.
